Born to be an Aggie
I grew up knowing that I would go to Texas A&M University. My three older brothers went to school there and I already had a large collection of maroon to my name by the time I was 17. I remember various trips to Aggieland when I was a kid, knowing that one day I would return to College Station for my turn. From going to football games and my brothers graduations, so many of my family's life moments took place there. Weddings always had the Aggie War Hymn playing at some point and a plethora of Aggie Rings in attendance. I was always the person decked out in A&M merch growing up, proudly representing my future school. Becoming a Texas A&M Aggie was my destiny and I take great pride in upholding this family tradition.
The moment I became an Aggie was a huge moment for me. I remember getting the email that I got in and immediately telling my mom. The Word kids were 4/4!
Going to Texas A&M was one of the best things to happen to me. I got to spend my first year in school with my big brother, which made the experience really special to me. Some of my favorite memories were made during that year going to Texas A&M with him. Texas A&M was more than just a typical college experience for me. I felt like I was apart of a family, with the traditions and lifestyle associated with going to school there. I was proud to stand in the student section during football games, campout for tickets, and start my emails with a proud 'Howdy!' These are things that I take with me well beyond my time in College Station, TX.
Being an Aggie is not just as simple as a college decision, it's a commitment to be apart of something bigger than you are. It is the promise of found family.
