Boring to Better
Last year WWDC was more of criticism from the consumers for not having to focus on PRO consumers. Developers, content creators from all across the world bashed Apple for not meeting the excitement and expectations.
This year WWDC was more of course correction of Apple line-ups. Launching their most powerful machines and adding graphics that overrule most of the pro machines out there. Apple kind off made it up for the previous year!
Don't re-invent the wheel, upgrade should do!
If you compare previous year's Macbook Pro version to this years. All you would see is a bump in hardware and that's exactly what users asked for. This has become a trend in the tech industry.
LG, in 2016 introduced G6 with modular accessories which were more of experimental than reality. LG's revenue in 2016 dipped by half. Going back to the table, 2017 LG G7 made some news and had become a benchmark for the year 2017 & this goes to most of the tech giants.
Price does matter
Apple's Macbook and iMac prices were slashed by $ 200, which was one of the complaints that people said "Less value for money". This opened up a path for competitors bringing in powerful, thinner machines for half the cost of Macbook Pro's.
Steps taken by Apple to convince users was very obvious this WWDC.
Sometimes, there is this learning curve for every product and companies. Innovation should be part of thought process with users in mind. Just adding new things won't help and that's exactly what we applied in our Start-up.
We had designed and wanted to build plenty of features to our product as an upgrade. What struck us massively was the ability to focus on one reason why anybody should use our product. We re-worked and came up with what it is today.
