I updated my backup scripts today to be more liberal with what it backs up. I am always surprised to see how much borg compresses and deduplicates. I backed up a computer I use to build and run a lot of projects. It has a lot of cloned code, dependencies, downloaded packages, and more. My backup archive contains over 8 backups points. A total of 876 GB is backed up as 112 GB.


That is impressive!


I have a tutorial and code ready for programmers out there. If you have docker installed, you can be running a backup within 5 minutes.
