Borders
An international ??border is a line separating two countries, administrative divisions or any specific ownership. Long back my grandfather has taken me to our agricultural land in Kerala showing me the borders of our land which was demarcated by a few stones or a bund see below a border in a paddy field. These borders are a few?hundred?feet?but what happens when it is borders between countries stretching hundreds of kms. Sitting in the thought bar this week is all about the different types of borders separating countries.
We are aware of the border clash with India and China in May 2020, Chinese and Indian troops engaged in aggressive face-offs, and skirmishes at locations along the China -Indian border, including near the disputed Pangong Lake in Ladakh, When it comes to territorial disputes across the globe, the list is long and ever-changing. There are now more than 150 disputes underway that involve territory, mostly in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific region, but also in Europe and the Americas. You may recall Trump's proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall, exploring every foot of the 2000-mile boundary.
While there is a chain of remote, energy-rich islands known as the Senkaku Islands in Japan and the Diaoyu Islands in China Gaza Strip and the West Bank are well know disputes. Several countries, including the United Kingdom, France, and Argentina, have made claims over the frozen continent of Antarctica and Iraq’s 1990 invasion was also made as a Malayalam move by name TAKEOFF.
One might think that all borders are heavily guarded or militarized?but there are many borders completely peaceful and may look funny too. The 3-country point is known as Drielandenpunt in Dutch, or Dreil?ndereck in German, or Trois Frontières in French one can walk into 3 countries in 10 minutes.

Pheasant Island?( see pic below) is an uninhabited river island in the Bidasoa river, located between France and Spain, What's really unusual about Pheasant Island is that Spain and France don't share the territory at the same time. By the terms of the 1659 treaty, they alternate sovereignty. Every February, French representatives meet their counterparts on Pheasant Island to hand it over to the Spaniards; every August, they get it back.
