Boosting Ghana's film industry: MTF West Africa forges strong partnerships
In a strategic move to elevate the film industry in West Africa, the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) West Africa Academy embarked on a series of productive engagements with key stakeholders in the Ghanaian creative landscape. The primary objective was to foster collaboration and optimise the region's film potential.
Key areas of focus during these meetings included:
Strengthening the MTF brand:?Collaborating with University of Ghana, Knutsford University College, and the National Film Authority to increase brand visibility among Ghanaian creatives.
Enhancing cultural exchange:?Integrating more Ghanaian cultural elements into film and television productions through expert-led workshops and masterclasses.
Supporting alumni growth:?Facilitating partnerships to provide alumni with grants, project opportunities, and platform exposure through seminars and symposiums.
Bridging industry gaps:?Connecting established Ghanaian filmmakers with alumni to create opportunities for newcomers.
All parties involved expressed enthusiasm for these initiatives and agreed on specific metrics to measure their success. Successful engagements were held with the National Film Authority, University of Ghana, and Knutsford University College.
Additionally, the MTF West Africa Academy, represented by Academy Director, Atinuke Babatunde took the opportunity to connect with its alumni network in Ghana, demonstrating their dedication to the local film industry and their collaborative spirit. Notably, two alumni, Daphne Atsutse and Alice Johnson, have taken the lead in organizing Ghana's second most prestigious film festival, the Accra Indie Film Festival (AIF).
These positive interactions highlight the potential for significant growth in Ghana's film industry through collaborative efforts.
MTF West Africa remains committed to supporting the development of the region's film talent and industry.
