Boost Your Cold Email Outreach: 10 Tips

Cold outreach can really be draining and frustrating, especially when you're just starting out.

But the truth of the matter is that cold outreach is effective. If it wasn't effective, businesses wouldn't still be using it to obtain customers. For the most part, cold outreach is also free.

If you haven't already done some cold outreach, or if you have, I'd like to share some of the things I try to remember when cold outreach is difficult or frustrating.

  1. Experiment, but don't take it personally when you get a lot of no.
  2. Adapt your message and your tactics as you go and you'll eventually find your best pitch (keep trying new things until you find what works). Always try to improve.
  3. Warm clients up a little before you start pitching. You're more likely to engage in a conversation if you can get a response before you start selling.
  4. Sell like you want to be sold. Make your client feel like they truly matter. Focus on them, what they do, what they need. Be a good listener.
  5. Learn about them. Ask them questions. Find the gap in their business (find where you can help them, find their pain point).
  6. Build trust. Showcase what you do. "This is what I do for my clients, this is what problem I solve with my services/product. This is how it works, this is how I operate, this is how I deliver results for you."
  7. Stay diligent. It's going to take a lot of no before you get that first yes, but the yes will come! Stay the course.
  8. Use some way of keeping track of your customers (usually with a CRM).
  9. Hold yourself accountable. If you're supposed to get with a client at 2 on a video call, show up. If you're supposed to follow up on an email, follow up.
  10. Find what works for you. You are unique, your business is unique, your solution is unique. Your pitch should also be what works for you.

There are probably more, and feel free to add them in the comments, but there are some of the things I have to remember when I do cold outreach.

I hope you found this short read helpful, if so, feel free to pass it on to someone else that may be starting or struggling with cold outreach!

Thanks for reading!

Oh Hi Nithin, Hi Joey, To the best of my knowledge, your emails go to the primary folder. Unless it has spammy language. Even if some go to the spam folder, majority of them go to the primary emails. I hope this helps

Wow Joey??! I was thinking to start to cold outreach through email and I have seen your content about email marketing at the right time. I have this one question, the emails which we send to our ideal prospects, will our e-mails be going on to their spam folder or will they go into the main primary inbox automatically?
