BOOST Scouting Report/SB LVIII Edition: Christian Fitzpatrick

As the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs square off in Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, BOOST team member Christian Fitzpatrick will enjoy a rare day off from work to cheer on his beloved Bay Area team.

Throughout the week, the BOOST marketing coordinator is responsible for executing our digital ad tech platform between sports properties and their sponsorship partners (including e-commerce/merchandising). On Sundays, Christian shifts to IRL, immersing himself directly in Levi's? Stadium game day operations as a member of the 49ers Foundation Team Sales organization.

To say he obsesses fan engagement is an understatement. But perhaps even more important than developing a deep understanding of what truly drives NFL fans’ passions, Christian’s efforts are making a significant positive impact in the community. This past season, the 49ers Foundation raised more than $300,000 for local charities including FLY , City Year , and the Golden Heart Fund . In 2022, Christian was inducted into "Club 49" for generating $49,000 in contributions during his first 2 seasons. In 2023, he helped raise nearly $25,000.?

“The money we raise goes back into the community, from providing mentorship to Bay Area youth to helping those who served our country and their families. The individuals that we meet with and learn about their organizations are awesome and explain how donations help make an impact in the local community.”?

Christian’s typical game day begins 4 hours prior to kickoff, with his 30-member team huddling to review sales goals and learn their location assignments (Premium Suites, concourses, or main bowl area – his favorite). In addition, guest speakers address his team, including everyone from the 49ers co-chairman (Dr. John York) to charity and nonprofit representatives.

From the opening of the gates until mid-4th quarter, he engages with the fans during timeouts and between quarters, selling 50/50 raffle tickets and sharing info about the 49ers Foundation. Christian has gotten to know many of the “Faithful” by name, who are energized to not only support their community, but also enter to win an average of $60,000 in a single game.

His Sunday gigs also allow him to stay on top of the latest fan insights and fashion, which fuels his BOOST role partnering with leading sports properties, their sponsors and e-commerce operations. Christian leverages our full stack operating system to manage merchandising assortments and targeted ads, and integrate them with targeted fan content delivered through websites, social media and other channels.

“In the suites, the fit is polos and half-zip tops that are more basic with simple colors,” said Christian. “On the concourses, it’s a sea of current and retro jerseys, and more eye-catching graphics and colors. Entering the winter months, varsity jackets were definitely leading the trend, along with hats and beanies.”

When asked to define the 49ers fan base, he shares their love for the team, and a unique insight. "They have a high level of expectation at all levels, from players to coaches to the front office. They are also one of the only teams to my knowledge that has a dedicated song/anthem written by local artists.” Saweetie & P-Lo - DO IT FOR THE BAY (Official Music Video) ??

When the game is nearly over, Christian and the team head back through the tunnel, near the visiting locker room, to their meeting space and recognize the 50/50 winner. “Following the meeting, we usually have a few minutes left in the game to watch (or beat the traffic)," said Christian. "I always stay.”?

“Christian brings a competitive fire, curiosity, and is the consummate team player,” said Tim Mitchell , BOOST Chief Commercial Officer. “He has been an incredible asset to the growth and evolution of BOOST through his passion to learn and deploy new technologies, along with his ability to blend a love of sport with serving the community.”

Christian's vast sports acumen includes his first love: hoops.

Beyond BOOST and the 49ers Foundation, the San Jose resident and first generation college graduate ( 美国加州州立大学富尔顿分校 ) enjoys playing video games (Rocket League) and his first sport passion – hoops. Inspired by NBA legend Allen Iverson, he wore #3 and a tri-color headband as a star guard for Adrian C. Wilcox High School.?And how's this for engagement: one of his coaches at Wilcox was BOOST Co-Founder Mustafa Abdul-Hamid .

"Christian's talent, poise on the court, and coachability definitely stood out to me," said Mustafa. "We managed to stay connected throughout his college journey, and have been fortunate to have him contribute as a vital member of the BOOST team."

This Sunday, though, it’s all about football for Christian.

“For the NFC Championship – I was in the bowl. Everyone was standing and obviously very hyped! It was absolutely the loudest I’ve ever heard Levi’s Stadium. This team – and their fans – are ready to bring another championship home to the Bay Area.”

Thrilled to see passion driving innovation in fan engagement! It reminds me of Warren Buffet's belief in doing what you love and its ripple effect on success. Here's to building vibrant communities in sports! ?? #innovation #passion #sportscommunity
