? Boost to electrification for a sustainable future

Hello everyone! ?? We're back with a new edition of our newsletter to keep you informed of what's been happening in the Iberdrola world over the past few weeks.

Accelerating electrification with more investment in the years ahead ??

Last week we held our Capital Markets Day, where we presented an update to our strategic plan , as well as forecasts for the coming years.

We updated our commitments and reinforced our strategy, announcing planned investment of 41 billion euros during the period 2024-2026 to further enhance the electrification of the economy ? and contribute to the creation of a secure and sustainable energy future ????

"Electrification is unstoppable. Forecasts suggest that this trend will increase exponentially in the coming years as the only alternative to respond to the current challenges of the energy industry."

Ignacio Galán, Executive Chairman of Iberdrola.

? The key points:

  • Investment of 41 billion euros between 2024 and 2026
  • Record investments in grids, storage and renewables.
  • Record job creation: More than 10,000 hires by 2026.

At the same time, the main wind energy event in Europe was also held last week, returning for another year to Bilbao: Wind Europe 2024 . Iberdrola was one of the main ambassadors of the gathering , which brought together more than 12,000 professionals from the sector. ????

Renewables around the world ??: Saint-Brieuc

This week we are taking our global renewables review to France! It was announced that our Saint Brieuc offshore wind farm? ?? is already generating clean electricity from 31 of the 62 wind turbines ?

The full commissioning of the project will take place in the spring, when it will supply green energy to more than 835,000 people.

More Green ?? Partnerships

We signed a new agreement with Amazon to provide 159 MW of renewable energy from our offshore wind farm in the North Sea, East Anglia THREE. This contract is in addition to others already signed ???? by Amazon for projects in Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom itself.

The East Anglia TRHEE project will be the second largest wind farm in the world , with 95 turbines and 1.4 GW of capacity. It will provide clean electricity ? to 1.3 million British families when completed in 2026.

This agreement is part of Amazon's commitment to source 100% renewable energy by 2025 ????. As the world’s largest purchaser of green energy, we are thrilled to collaborate with companies that have the same commitment to the planet.

Her Energy ??♀?

We have also launched the global HerEnergy programme to support the development of Iberdrola's female leaders around the world ?? ♀?. The need to increase the presence of women in executive positions and to remove the obstacles that hinder their professional?? ?? development is something Iberdrola is firmly committed to.

In the words of Estrella Martin Segurado, Director of Global Talent:

To boost the leadership of our professionals, training is not enough, so we decided to create this program that allows us not only to reach, but to exceed, the goal of having 35% of women in relevant positions by 2025

As we come to the end of another newsletter, we will leave you with this video produced for the International Day of Forests, which was on the 21st of March, to remind us that forests are essential in the fight against climate change ??
