Not sure how many avid readers have the habit of highlighting good lines when you read a book so that you can come back later on when you are bored and re-live the good moments you had with that book. I definitely do that all the time!
One book that I recently read was “You can achieve more” written by Shiv Khera. The first book that I read written by this author was “You can Win”, fell in love with that book so I had to read his following books namely “living with honour”, “Freedom is not free”, “You can Sell” and this book called “You can achieve more” is the last book by this seasoned author which was published 2018.
This book “You can achieve more” is a self-help book which effectively teaches not only the principles of success but also how to avoid expensive mistakes. The principles are universal among all cultures but practicing them matters and will give you a rewarding result.
In this post I would like to share with you my favorite lines which I came across while reading this book and HIGHLIGHTED for future reference.
1. A person with a positive attitude cant be stopped and a person with a negative attitude cant be helped.
2. Acquiring facts is a knowledge, interpreting facts is understanding ad proper application of fats is wisdom.
3. In order to be happy, we need three things – health, Wealth and Good relationships.

- An action plan defines three things: What you want to achieve, how you want to achieve and target date to achieve it.
- Success doesn’t depend on our position, but on our disposition, which is our attitude.
- Thinking, believing and knowing what is good is not enough. DOING GOOD IS.
- Whenever we speak well about a man, do we refer to his looks, clothes, face or academic qualifications? No. we refer to his attitude.
- Attitude is our standpoint, our approach to things or our reaction to situations in life.
- A positive thinker is an optimist. We can’t always change the circumstances, nor can we change the reasons or the seasons, but we can change ourselves.
- The only way we have a choice in is the way we deal with the world which is our ATTITUDE.
- The pedigree of a horse is judged by his breeding and training and not by a fancy stable.
- The lines on our palm don’t decide our future. There are those without hands who not only write their own future but also those of others.
- The best idea will not work unless we work the idea.
- A good life is not measured by bank balances and material possessions alone. It is measured by our attitude towards life.
- We should life by design not y default.
- If we are not willing to pay the price for success then whether we like it or not, we will have to pay the price for failure. A price has to be paid, no matter what.
- Every victory is the result of the following components – Sacrifice, self-discipline, hard work, commitment, integrity and responsibility, besides our willing to invest time, effort and money.
- By the time a person gains maturity and good sense, youth is gone.
- Life without fulfilment is empty. It is like good looks without goodness.
- No matter how hard you try, ignorance cant be concealed and wisdom gets revealed.
- You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
- Confidence without humility amounts to arrogance.
- Problems are a sign of life, so long as we are alive we shall have problems and the day we have no problem, we will be dead.
- We can’t choose the cards that are dealt to us; we can only choose how to play the game.
- If we keep doing what we have been doing all our lives, we will keep getting the same results that we have been getting. If we want different results in life, we need to either do different things or do things differently.
- All progress is change but not all change is progress.

- We can condition our thought factory to become either like a thermometer or thermostat.
- Just like the soil doesn’t choose the seeds that are planted, our subconscious mind doesn’t decide what thoughts to choose. Just like the farmer decides on the seeds, the conscious mind chooses the thoughts to implant in the subconscious mind.
- A farmer, even after he plants good seeds to constantly de-weed his garden, otherwise the weeds destroy his good harvest. Similarly, the cleansing process of our mind should be constant and consistent.
- Every thought is a seed – if you plant an inferior seed, you cant expect a superior fruit.

- We all know how to read, but very few actually do read and of those who read, very few know what to read.

- A pillow of clear conscience affords the soundest sleep and comes from a life lived with integrity.
- Enforced integrity is no integrity.
- Taking things that don’t belong to us without permission, even with the intention of replacing them is stealing.
- A crooked lawyer with a briefcase can steal more than a hundred robbers with guns.
- Reputation is “what other people Think of us” and character is “who we know we are”.
