What would occur if something happened to him/her either on the day of the event or even weeks or months before your event? Scrambling to find a qualified photographer at the last minute is often difficult or impossible. Confirm their backup options (i,e, assistants)

At the moment of first contact that may be your consultation time to discuss your exact needs. Be sure you have their cell phone numbers and social media accounts to help you stay connected with them.

Can you confirm the images and samples of photographers work is theirs?

There are individuals that use other photographers’ images and pass them off as their own; hopefully they have samples of images of people you actually know.

Was this photographer referred to you by a reliable person?

Although a random person can be considered reliable, your trust factor will be higher from a close associate or friend. Hopefully a referral from a friend that has hired or used the photographer recently.

Is online viewing available?

Will they offer a password protected site for online viewing proofing and ordering?
