This Seminars and Soundbites series, organised by UCL Institute for Global Prosperit, explores how citizens mobilize new physical and digital channels of political participation, and what can be done to create and adapt these cultural spaces so they make positive impact on democratic life in the 21st century.?The speaker for this event will be Ceri Davies, Director of the Centre for Deliberation , and you can hear her talk on "Building a deliberative imagination for 21st century challenges.

Incentives in the Ethnic Minority British Election Study and National Travel Attitudes Survey

In this latest survey methods webinar - organised by City, University of London , European Social Survey and National Centre for Social Research - different incentive strategies will be explored. Nicole Martin, University of Manchester, will discuss the Ethnic Minority British Election Study. Eva Aizpurua and Shane Howe, National Centre for Social Research, will focus on the National Travel Attitudes Survey.

The rise and fall of anti-welfare attitudes, and what it means for welfare reform in 2024 and beyond

24 January | 10:00-11:00

This event is a partnership between the Campaign for Social Science, as part of their project?Election 24: Ideas for change based on social science evidence , and the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen), drawing on the findings from the British Social Attitudes 2023 survey. The webinar will involve contributions from Professor Sir John Curtice and Professor Ben Baumberg Geiger, as well as a Q&A from audience members. The webinar will be chaired by Professor Imogen Tyler of Lancaster University.
