Book of the Week: As a Man Thinketh by James Allen
Hello, Eagles! It’s Mother Eagle here. How is everybody doing? Well, this week’s book recommendation is …. Drum roll, please. As a Man Thinketh, so is he. As a Man Thinketh by James Allen. Oh! This book is very small. This book is impactful. This book you have to read it every year or a few times to actually get it. So simple yet so true, yet we never implement any of it. Why do we do that? Anyway. When I encountered this book, it changed everything about the way we think. This book is all about thoughts. It reminds you that our mind is a garden. Our mind can make seeds and turn them into like a forest of whatever type of seeds you have planted in the mind’s garden.
So if you have planted negative thoughts, they’re going to grow bigger and remember, our actions are usually based on our thoughts. The way someone’s thought pattern is the way their actions will appear. So if someone is acting a certain way, you know that is their thought pattern. You know, our actions really tell on how we think. And this book will show you and teach you about that. Whereby you start getting cautious to think about what are you thinking on. I know it’s like, “What?” Yes. You have to think, stop, think, and observe your thoughts. What are you thinking on? Are you on this slope of negativity or a loop of positivity? What are you creating? Because your thoughts will drive your actions and you start creating things in life and you’re wondering where are these things coming from. “My God! These are not the things I want.”
Yes, but your thought pattern is there. And remember, we attract the kinds of things we are thinking about. That’s why you find that if you’re going in a downward spiral, you’ll start attracting things that help you continue going down, down, down, down. And you’re wondering, “My God. What’s going on?” Yes. Because you’re having a thought pattern of a downward spiral, so life is attracting to you things that agree with your mindset going down, down, down. So think on things that are good, lovely, and of good rapport. Things that are praiseworthy, even in the midst of things that are not pleasant. You have to. It’s the way nature works. So the more you think on things that raise you up, praiseworthy, good, you know, all of a sudden, you see your environment starting to change and remember after I got this book and read it a few times, I started … I call it living on the defensive instead of … Okay, living prepared, I think, that’s the right word. Living prepared.
So I used to have this collection of music. Dance music. That would snap me out of a funky mood within two songs, you know? If I hear something that’s a bit negative. I’m feeling, oh! Oh! that is not good. I put on my little music. There were like 10 songs. I would dance and get excited because the whole point was to change my mindset, was to reorganize my thought pattern so I would think through the issues better and solve them better, because if you think of thoughts as a frequency, right? As a wave, a vibration going through. If it’s on the negative spiral, everything you’re going to do is going to follow that spiral. If someone calls you while you’re in the negative spiral, everything you’re spitting out will be negative with attitude, you know?
It’s the same way if you’re going in the positive style, it will be the same way. I’m not saying to ignore your thoughts. No. Yes, if they’re negative, you got to deal with them and see what’s bringing them up, what’s triggering you and know that and walk them through, but you’re not supposed to sit there and be in them and marinate. This book will help you do that. As a Man Thinks by James Allen. It’s your book of the week and I hope you’re reading. Just two pages a day. Give me five minutes. Just five minutes a day. Ooh. You know, we want to see you great. We want to see you fly, fly, fly like an eagle. Be your best self. Shine your light. Never dim your light. Never apologize for the miracle you are, you know? This is Mother Eagle. I’ll talk to you soon. Bye.
Enjoy
