This entry from?My Book Series?goes to... is a climate fiction ("cli-fi") novel
How I Found it
From a?neighbour, an ecologist, introduced me to "The Ministry for the Future". My interest in environmental issues has led us both to become involved in the "village vergers", a group focused on rewilding areas and promoting biodiversity in our community. Even though he doesn't often read fiction!
What it Tells me
Reading books like this one can inspire us to get inspired by others' ideas. To be able to create we must first imagine. Novels play a key role here throughout history: from computers, robots and also AI.
The book is a thought-provoking novel that highlights the urgent need for action on climate change. And in all honestly it did twist my stomach over the first few chapters.
It highlights that climate change is a complex, interconnected problem that requires global cooperation to solve. That its impacts are not evenly distributed, and the most vulnerable populations are (already!) the most affected.
A call to creators, designers, and open-minded professionals for bold and innovative solutions which are a must to address the challenges we face, including technologies like carbon capture and geoengineering, as well as policy changes like carbon taxes and international agreements.
There are many ways that we can make a difference, including reducing consumption and related footprint, supporting political leaders who prioritize climate action, and advocating for policy changes at the local and national level.

Through short chapters it takes you on a journey of several actors and perspectives, whilst every 3 or so there are "fact" like chapters and every 10 or so a riddle. It feels as if it was written for a film.
Food for Thought
Overall, "The Ministry for the Future" is a call to action and a reminder that we all have a role to play in addressing the global challenge of climate change.
