This entry from?My Book Series goes to 'Making Good Teams Great'!
How I Found it
This was one of the first books I bought when I became a Scrum Master. And I must admit that retrospectives are the hardest thing to master out of the Scrum framework, but they are also are the key to the whole thing! And unfortunately are the thing that most often gets compromised/missed.
So there I was a new Scrum Master on a quest to conquer this tricky agile ceremony.
What it Tells me
That teams making adjustments and focus attention on how the work is done and how they interact, is what makes the difference.
That investing time and effort to improve your practice, handle issues, and surface obstacles every day, makes the difference.
We all have been in retrospectives where we do talk but things don't change.
Well hey! this book has you covered, giving you a simple frame in 5 sections for you to follow in your team sessions, with tons of practical activities on how to tackle each of the 5.
I highly recommend it!
Food for Thought
Visuals are super powerful assets to convey common understanding, rather than leaving agreements at the intuition level, it will help you to express it in a way that is easier to understand, digest and recall.
Visuals are not only good for explaining things to others but I also ind them quite useful for myself to organise my thoughts as I present content. A visual representation of data and events makes it easier for people to see patterns and make connections.
