I Will Survive
Gloria Gaynor's 'I will survive' song was inititially released in 1978 as a B-side but quickly became one of the bestselling singles of all time thanks to its power to touch something universal in the human soul.
The song is in part a story of being trampled upon, of being taken for granted, but it's not really about the wrong others have done to us: it is an honest appraisal of the way we have let them do these things to us, because we have been insufficiently on our own side.
The other has undoubtedly harms us, but the deeper problem is that we have not known how to esteem ourselves highly enough to stop them doing so. If they thought that we would crumble and lie down and die they did so for a good reason: because that is what we did so many times before. We identify with the song's heroine because she is frank enough to admit that she has been the storyteller of her own life. The architect of her own humiliation.

1 年Thank you , this song always inspired great hope and strength for difficult times and moments. There is a truth in that we have become unaware of the divinity of life , not just human life , but all life in different shapes and varieties . However it’s been almost a constitutional ingrained believe that we are not in paradise , neither deserve it . While when you actually open your mind, ?? hearths and eyes you learn that we are all created unique , the human condition was mend to be caring. In between eating and being eaten , the circle of life , we do live in the most beautiful paradise and we deserve it ???????? * “ the survival of every kind depends on his ability to work together and care for one and other, insights of Darwin”.
