Book Review - Make Your Bed

Book Review - Make Your Bed

It was this youtube video that got me to listen to the audiobook of Make Your Bed by Admiral William H. McRaven. It was a short audiobook that I finished in less than two hours of listening. It is concise but packed with wisdom. The book talked about ten simple and common principles below.

  • Start Your Day with a Task Completed
  • You Can’t Go it Alone
  • Only the Size of Your Heart Matters
  • Life’s No Fair–Drive On!
  • Failure Can Make You Stronger
  • You Must Dare Greatly
  • Stand Up to the Bullies
  • Rise to the Occasion
  • Give People Hope
  • Never, Ever Quit.

Making your bed in the morning means that you’ve accomplished one thing. Doesn’t matter what life is going to throw at you later but you have started your day by getting one thing done. Then at night, you could certainly come back to your bed knowing that you did something right this morning.

I enjoyed listening to the book as it provides practical life stories relevant to each chapter. I think I could listen to it again next time just because it’s practical, concise, good storytelling, and easy to digest.
