Book Recommendations 2024

Book Recommendations 2024

This year, I've embarked on my annual reading journey, aiming to explore 10 books. My selection isn't pre-planned but evolves with my interests and experiences throughout the year.

First, there's "Falling Upward" by Richard Rohr, a profound book for those who've delved deeply into self-reflection. It's especially resonant for those ready to embrace the profound wisdom that life's second half offers – a stage many never reach. A journey I'm just scraping the surface.

"Embraced by the Light" by Betty Eadie offers solace to those grappling with the fear of death or mourning a loved one. It's a comforting read in difficult times.

“How to be an Artist" by Jerry Saltz is another favorite. I picked it up at the National Museum of Oslo, and it holds special memories for me. The book challenges its readers creatively, I'm yet to complete all the challenges, but I intend to.

For financial wisdom, "The Richest Man in Babylon" teaches basic yet crucial money management principles.

"Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah was an eye-opener about South Africa and its history of apartheid—a gripping read that was both educational and enjoyable (also cried a little).

I have been in the tech field since I started my first year of Bachelor in Telecommunication Engineering, (12 Years before) but technology has always new things to learn from. In "Machine Learning for Absolute Beginners" by Oliver Theobald, I appreciated how complex technology concepts were made accessible. It's fascinating to see how technology attempts to mimic the processes our brains perform effortlessly.?

In recent years, I've found myself reading only about 30% of certain books before losing interest, deciding they weren't the best match for me. This is a change from my past approach, where I would commit to finishing every book I started, believing in the reason that made me start reading it in the first place. However, as I've broadened my reading horizons, exploring new genres and diverse books, I've also become more forgiving towards not completing every book. These partially-read books have been enjoyable and beneficial for the portion I did read. Out of respect for the authors, I prefer not to list these unfinished books, as I don't plan to complete them.

There are also those guilty pleasures I've indulged in, but those will remain my little secret!

Stay tuned for more book recommendations, especially as I embark on my two-week Christmas vacation filled with reading, good food, and warm moments.

For a new read, explore "Bring Inner Greatness Out: Personal Brand." Packaging is one of the most important aspects of marketing anything - including ourselves and our ideas. https://www.amazon.de/dp/B08L5Y7DF1 This 5-minute humorous video shares one of the key messages I shared in the book: https://youtu.be/lkOyiivb9zY
