[Book Now] Talk: Employees Embracing Neurodiversity in the Workplace

During Neurodiversity Celebration Week in March, I had the opportunity to collaborate with companies to deliver impactful talks on neuro-inclusivity across their global teams.

Through this experience, I recognised that a common challenge for many businesses is building foundational awareness of neurodiversity.

It's time to bring these conversations into the mainstream and encourage all team members to recognise and support the benefits of diverse thinking, learning, and response styles.?

Because of the growing importance of neurodiversity in today's media landscape, I have created a 30-minute recorded talk called Employees Embracing Neurodiversity in the Workplace: Understanding Neuro-Inclusion.

By creating a culture of neuro-inclusion, we can foster complementary teams that draw on the strengths of each individual, resulting in increased creativity, productivity, and overall feelings of success through team cohesion.

Employees Embracing Neurodiversity in the Workplace: Understanding Neuro-Inclusion?

This 30-minute recorded talk is designed to equip attendees with the introductory knowledge and tools to create a workplace culture that is truly inclusive and celebrates neurodiversity.

This talk focuses on three key areas that will enable attendees to create a neuro-inclusive work environment:

  1. First, I’ll introduce common language used when discussing neurodiversity so that wording becomes familiar and normalised. This gives a greater voice to those with lived experience and enables colleagues to create an open and accepting culture.
  2. Second, we'll explore the importance of neurodiversity and empathy across teams. By learning that people think, learn, and respond differently, individuals create a more comfortable and supportive work environment that fosters creativity, productivity, and innovation for those around them.
  3. And to wrap up, I’ll provide practical hints, tips and coaching-led approaches to be proactively neuro-inclusive in the workplace, with an emphasis on global accessibility meaning simple and effective strategies that often benefit the many, as well as the sometimes invisible few.?

Please note:

  • As a rapidly evolving topic, neurodiversity is a vast subject with ever-changing terminology. Therefore, the content of this talk is not exhaustive and is designed to provide foundational knowledge.
  • The examples used in the talk focus on a sub-section of neurotypes, including dyslexia, ADHD, ASD (Autism), HSP (Highly Sensitive Person), and neurotypical individuals.

Who this talk is for:

  • Team members
  • Management

The recorded session includes:

  • What neurodiversity is and how it impacts everyone so that we raise awareness of invisible barriers.
  • An overview of common terminology so that colleagues feel comfortable with everyday language and conversations around lived experience.
  • Exploring unconscious biases and society's more favourable generalisations so that we bring awareness to judgement and assumptions.?
  • The benefits of starting conversations around neurodiversity to recognise that when people think, learn and respond in different ways, it enhances company culture.
  • What adjustments at work could look like so that tweaks to any neurotypical workplace will benefit the many and the few.
  • Practical tips and strategies to strengthen equity and feelings of belonging to improve morale and productivity.

Format:

  • 30-minute recorded session - available from Monday 12 June 2023.
  • I will facilitate an online post-session survey to provide feedback and determine ROI gain.

?? It's estimated that up to 20% of the world's population has an element of neurodivergence. So how are you supporting one in five employees who think, learn and respond differently??

When workplaces are set up for the neurotypical, bias and exclusions creep in. Without a neuro-inclusive approach, team members can become frustrated and disengage, impacting team cohesion and staff retention. With the right support, employees feel valued, seen and heard - boosting morale and profitability.?

?? To book a discovery call for me to share insights on neuroinclusivity and how that can support your world of work, find time in my online calendar here or send me a private message.
