Book Marketing Minute #9

Book Marketing Minute #9

Here is today's Book Marketing Minute #9:

Just as there are industry-specific publications and organizations, there are LinkedIn Groups for every professional discipline and interest. When I wrote? The Miracle Morning for Teachers?with Hal Elrod, I connected with teachers, administrators, and even two school superintendents (plus several other authors of books for teachers and educators) due to the groups I joined on LinkedIn.

Basic effective LinkedIn relationship building rules apply: seek first to authentically connect, then seek to bring business or wisdom?to?the people you're connecting with,?then?seek to talk about your book. Chances are if someone is intrigued by you, they will know about your book before you mention it.

Have you joined or started any LinkedIn groups? I'd love to hear about your experience!

While I have always seen the value in LinkedIn Groups, over the years the updates that have been made to the Groups have made it more challenging to engage and keep up with conversations. The notifications are poor - and I have often missed opportunities. I actually wish LinkedIn would learn from Facebook!
