Here is today's Book Marketing Minute #4:
Reverse marketing is one of my favorite things to do—I put my book right where it would go in a bookstore with my business card inside. The first time I did this, the bookstore called me and asked what they should do. I said, "Sell it!" The gal laughed and asked if I could bring in more copies on consignment. Of course I said yes. This bookstore has since gone out of business (RIP, big box bookstore), but I made some sales and a friend for life. Moral of the story: when marketing your book, think like a ninja—outside the box, in creative ways.
