Here is today's Book Marketing Minute #14:
Follow up with an email or some kind of communication when you gift or sell a book. Ask them if they've had a chance to read it (keep in mind reading a book takes time and your book might still be in the TBR pile), and let them know you'd love to hear from them when they do.
When you get kind words from a reader, it's perfectly appropriate to respond with, "I'm delighted to hear that! Would you kindly leave a review where you bought the book? I'd truly appreciate it." [Or on Amazon, if you gifted them with the book.]
