Book I Recently Edited -- "UNSTOPPABLE. It's a Choice" Wins Awards at Prestigious San Francisco Book Festival!

When I worked at the Disability Services & Legal Center in Santa Rosa, I met many remarkable people, many of whom are wheelchair-bound, who look at their "disabilities" as "opportunities." One of those people was Inga Lizdenyte, who came to our country following a tragic auto accident, which robbed her of both legs, the use of her left arm, and her boyfriend, who was fatally injured.

She told me she was writing a book about the many experiences she'd had, and asked whether I'd be interested in editing her book. I asked to see just one Chapter at random, and it was then I realized how deeply personal her story was. I knew if it could touch others as it did me, she would have a best-seller.

Of course, I said "yes," not knowing what I was signing up for! I found an intensely personal journey that I was proud to edit. However, little did I know that Inga had entered UNSTOPPABLE...It's a Choice" in the San Francisco Book Festival, a prestigious competition in which, through a painstaking pre-evaluation process, only 5% of books entered are judged. She won prizes in two categories, but the real prize was being allowed as Editor to follow Inga's journey from a life-altering accident to award-winning journalist. Congratulations, Inga!
