Book Excerpt: The Showrooms for Flying Vehicles
My new book “Flying Vehicles” (The Emergence of Personal Air Travel, Flying Cars, and Air Taxis) is now available as advanced air mobility (AAM) begins to reshape the movement of people and things around the world.
In the book, based on months of research and interviews with industry executives, we provide an in-depth and horizontal view of the new electric flying vehicle landscape.
Included are numerous discussions in a worldwide look at the role of airlines, automakers, technology companies, vertiport developers, showrooms and investors, all pushing the industry ahead.
Here’s a small excerpt from the chapter “The Low-Altitude Economy,” just one element in the wide range of flying vehicle dynamics discussed in the book
The following short is from the chapter featuring Aeroauto Mobile, which includes an in-depth interview with founder and CEO Sean Borman.
?With so many flying vehicles coming into the market, one startup decided that centralized locations would be needed for people and businesses to see numerous vehicles, both for educational experiences and for the ultimate selection and purchase. The idea was to aggregate as many flying vehicle companies as possible and arrange to have those vehicles displayed in showrooms once they were ready.

That startup was Aeroauto Global Inc., headquartered in Royal Palm Beach, a village 15 miles west of Palm Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Sean Borman is President and CEO of Aeroauto and he is creating fully integrated showroom dealerships specializing in aerial vehicle transportation, including complete sales and service of the vehicles.
“If someone walks into a showroom, there are different flying vehicles there,” says Borman. “That's our business model. The whole point and purpose of what we're doing is customer education. By doing that, a customer comes in and has no knowledge or expectations or experience of what any of these flying machines can do other than the current helicopters and planes that are out there.
“There's no brand recognition and no option knowledge. There's no idea of what they can get or what they can't get with the price ranges and what their use cases are and could be. They come to us, and they say they have a budget of this and tell us their use case, and we then direct them to the appropriate vehicles for what they need.”
Aeroauto Global deals with flying vehicle makers from all over the world and it is set to display and sell a wide range of vehicles, including those from EHang in China, Ace VTOL in Australia, LuftCar in Florida, and Volocopter in Germany. As a result, the company has to keep an eye on aerial vehicle developments globally.
