Global agility leader, it sounds so big and hard to achieve. But as with everything, it’s not that hard.?Indeed, you need to be an agilist by heart.?Enjoy talking about agile, and spending your time with other agilists.?

The book reminded me of what was the most difficult when I started. It was a lack of self-confidence. I was afraid they won’t speak to me. That they won’t find my ideas interesting and won’t like to spend time with me. But It’s all about finding connections. Talking to people, joining their meetups.

When I was in Sydney, I contacted Rowan if there is a community meetup I can speak at and he organized an awesome event. I believe that was the first time I met Alex who invited us for a drink the next day with some agilists.?“We are going out after work each Friday, will you join us?”?I rarely say no to various opportunities, so I joined with the family. It was a nice evening, we had fun. The connection was created.?

“Perhaps you're an introvert and feel uncomfortable talking to people you don't know. It does take a certain level of courage to be march up to people and introduce yourself. Yet they may feel just as anxious as you do about ice-breaking introductions. Remember, the agile community welcomes and embraces everyone. But you'll need to be authentic. Engagement can't be based on a sales pitch. You have to be genuinely interested in meeting and knowing people.”
