Book 2 of the Carson Trilogy is Done!

So, I finally got a chance to hit send on the manuscript for my second book in the Carson trilogy "Defending The Eagle". I took a little extra time with this one to do some proofreading and some grammatical changes. I am sending my book to a new publisher to look at.

I truly enjoyed working with Ballast Books with my first book, "Of Vital Interest" and they did a great job. I will always appreciate what they did to launch my career as an author. They are a great group of folks.

I am considering the change for one reason and that is finances. If I am able to go with the new publisher, I will be able to write all of the books I currently have planned without having to drain my savings to do it. It was almost an offer I couldn't refuse. I currently have at least five more books that I would like to write.

I have learned over the last seven months that the most difficult part of being an author comes after you have written your book. I was drawn into the business side of writing in January of 2024. I spent countless hours trying to market my book and expand awareness of my work. My writing suffered over the time spent doing other things instead writing.

I am proud of what I did with my second book. I opened some doors for readers to see things that I experienced over my time in the Army. I want everyone to see that even when soldiers are overseas fighting a war life goes on back home. Veterans will see characters and personalities they are familiar with, and our hero will finally be making his way back to the States.

Looking forward, the storyline for Book 3 is done and the outline is almost complete. You will find a sneak peek of Book 3 at the end of Book 2. The struggle between good and evil continues and after much coaxing I decided to write myself into Book 3 in a cameo appearance.
