BONUS #2 - Men’s Health Week: Movement As A Marker For Health

Men’s Movement Health.

Yesterday we touched on a couple of aspects of self love that relate to a mans emotional and mental wellbeing. Today we are turning that physical and I’m going to give you something to take away and actually do!

Movement is a fundamental part of who we are as humans. For men, specifically, it’s how we process emotions and the sensations that we experience in our bodies.

Most females are a lot better than males at articulating how they are feeling/what emotion they are experiencing and what they need as a result. That’s obviously not to say that males can’t be that way. A healthy grounded man who is emotionally intelligent and can articulate that to a woman is probably what every woman wants! This is why physical movement, which enables physical movement of emotions and sensations within the body, as well as tension, is so incredibly important for a man on a daily basis.

If you are a man then don’t just take my word for it. Try it yourself.

Here's an experiment to try....

Don’t do any intentional workout or exercise for a few days and you’ll notice that you start to get a little bit restless, possibly even snappy to those around you. Then do something physically demanding, like a gym workout. Afterwards simply reflect on the difference within your body from before to after the workout. It’ll be like night and day, especially if you have done a tough session!

You will be more grounded, more mentally and emotionally stable and present as well as a lot more effective at communicating what is going on within your body and head.

It’s these simple things that we often forget, that make the biggest difference in our day to day life.?

Right, that’s enough of the talking for now, time to start doing!

Here is a simple, but effective little circuit session that will take you less than 4 minutes to do (literally, the video is 3min 45sec).

You can go as hard as you like, but do it within your abilities and try not to stop. It's only 4 minutes.

Six Round Circuit #2

It’s short and sharp, but it’ll help you get back into your body and shift that stuck energy.

Until next time, get into it and have a high intensity time,

Nathan.
