I’ve come to my writing desk today with my serious hat on, as apparently, we in society have to use a “special day” to raise the awareness of something so basic yet so vital!.
For this new month, I would like to seize upon the opportunity to help expose a “Special day”, that is known as “world food day”!.
It is with sadness to report that almost one in ten people globally are undernourished and more than 3 billion can’t afford a healthy diet, according to the "Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)" .?
?World Food Day was founded in 1945 and this year, it will be held on 16 October .
World Food day is celebrated in more than 150 countries around the world, mainly as an annual reminder that food insecurity and malnourishment remain a widespread issue.

?Sadly the situation is more than likely poised to worsen due to a range of ongoing threats that include climate change, inflation, geopolitical conflicts, Brexit and much more.
?Whilst increased talk about travel to the moon and beyond continues (of which I am sure pleases many people), I personally find it sad that billions of pounds and dollars are sent up to the skies seeking out goodness knows what, whilst todays statistics and projections on planet earth itself suggests that 670 million people (that equates to 8% of the world’s population) will still be facing food poverty and hunger in 2030 !. Some analyst claim that the figure is more than likely to be nearer 10% of the world’s population.
?Whist all of this and its potential resolve is incredibly political, it appears there is little we can physically do on this “special day” other than think about those that are on the receiving end of past and present leadership failures around the world and suffering the knock on effect and consequences of others choices.?
?Maybe?the "Special day" this month will be a reminder for us to support foodbanks and consciously think about those possibly less well-off and unable to purchase natures basics to simply survive. ??
?As a response and to raise awareness of this ?“World Food Day”, I leave you with?no?recipe ............. just a thought. ?
I agree it's heartbreaking to think that children are under nourished.
