We are welcoming expressions of interest for the following FULL-TIME positions:
1. Lead Signalling Design Engineer
The purpose of the role is to design, analyze, develop, test and demonstrate engineering solutions that solve the requirements. Provide cost and schedule estimates on engineering programs. Provide technical expertise in support of other departments. Lead, coordinate and support Engineering Teams producing design and engineering deliverables and provide timely progress reports to management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs engineering interfaces, gathers and analyses technical data, solves design problems, performs trade-off and coordination studies, creates novel design alternatives, develops reliability, safety and maintainability approaches, and decides on optimum design approach.
- Provide Team Leadership functionally to a team of engineers, working in matrix environment. Provide progress reporting to Engineering & Project Management. Develop, plan, coordinate and perform engineering duties relating to a specific technical domain or domains.
- Provide technical guidance and support technical development of team members. Secure, maintain and develop core know-how, resolve problems.
- Reviews technical specifications, estimates costs and schedules, plans his/her own work and participates on an engineering design team.
- Provides technical expertise in support of Customer Service, Program Management, Manufacturing, Field Start-up, Operations and Maintenance Manual production.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience postgraduate with Statement of Competency from Relevant Authorised Rail Operator [ARO], for Signalling Design and/or Testing discipline
- Experienced with MTM or ARTC
- Competency levels of 2 or above in the areas of Signalling Design – Circuits and/or data, Check and Review. Testing competence and/or Tester in Charge. Competence in CBTC Solution is an advantage.
2. Conventional Signalling Design Engineer
1.Working with the local and offshore design teams to design and implement the hardware designs for following sub-systems.
- New sub-systems including
- Ebilock (CBI)
- Object Controller System 950
- Wayside signalling equipment
2. Modify and / or extend the existing metropolitan conventional signalling systems including
- Computer Based Interlocking – Westrace, Westlock, SSI, Electrologix, Smartlock
- Interface Processors – Control System Gateways, Front End Processors, SIGMAP
- Relay based interlocking
- Wayside signalling equipment
3. Work with the Design Leads to resolve any technical issues associated with design
4. Work with the Contracts and Commercial team to ensure engineering output is ready to be procured and / or manufactured
5. Work with the Delivery and Construction team to ensure engineering output is available when required to be installed
6. Work with the System Integration and Testing & Commissioning Team to ensure the sub-systems are tested and commissioned.
Key Requirements: 3-5 years of experience postgraduate on a signalling project within engineering function with a minimum of Senior Design Engineer and Senior Test Engineer Statement of Competency across major Rail Operators such as MTM and ARTC. We specifically seek competency levels of 2 or above in the areas of Circuit and Data Design, Check and Review as well as Principles Testing and Tester in Charge. It is assumed that the incumbent will perform all roles they are deemed competent in.
