Bolsa Chica's Fascinating Historic Core
Saving 11 prime acres at Huntington Beach, Calif.’s Bolsa Chica open space is important to me. Called the Ridge and Goodell parcels, the properties include at least two important Native American sites – as well as an underground command center built during World War II.
If acquired by the Bolsa Chica Land Trust, applications to list these sites on the National Register of Historic Places will move forward, trust director Kim Koplin told me this week.
Today I’m asking you to give a small amount – perhaps $25, $40 or $100. If the timing isn’t good for you it’s o.k. – but please take a minute to click and learn about this piece of Southern California history.
