A Bolder Brew & A Leap of Faith

A Bolder Brew & A Leap of Faith

As you start to make changes or are dealing with a change that you didn’t ask for, you may be feeling indecisive, scared and stressed out!

This can be a give up moment. It can also be a moment where you reach deep within and choose to get clarity and gather strength. To me, children often bypass step 1 and are already here. A child may be dreaming, dreaming big and executing on a dream with determination, focus and consistency, and reaching out for support that makes you in awe of them. Adults may be doing this too. However, if this is a struggling point, think about that more and reflect on how commitment, consistency and your attitude, behaviors, values and beliefs help you stay in the bold zone, and never give up. Many say to live in the present.

While I agree, I believe it is extremely important to dream about the future, set goals and write them down. Future thinkers have a knack for seeing what could be and using their present moments to effectively work toward their dreams and goals. There are no guarantees that one option will ultimately be the best, but a variety of choices and the ability to adjust and adapt complement your bolder choices and actions.

When I meet people who want to make changes in their life, I ask them to take an inventory. Yes, much like a store counts their inventory a few times a year, I ask people to do the same. It’s not an inventory of your belongings and money, but rather an inventory of what is happening in various areas of your life. You may determine that you have made up your mind to start Percolating and you feel like choosing a bold brew, but something is making you feel stuck. I call it Hamster mode. Like a hamster going round and round on a wheel going nowhere over and over again. If your life feels like that, we need to get you off that wheel and traveling in a new direction to the bold zone.

In the bold zone, we ask questions like:
What’s my first step?

Why am I afraid or hesitant to take the first step?

What messages are in my head that aren’t real?

Who is telling me no?

What is holding me back?

Can it get better?

This is where we break habits, maybe change the people around us and go all in. This is a moment or series of moments where you take a risk, make up your own rules and think for yourself. You filter the shoulda, coulda, woulda’s and let the I Can’s brew up to the boldest they can be.

You know you have the courage, choice, wherewithal to take that first step.

There is one more level of courage, determination and self confidence in yourself needed before a final “yes” is given.

It's a leap of faith!

Courage to change ultimately falls to your faith in yourself to cope with whatever arises. There are no right or wrong answers in making a choice to change and no guarantees the choice will ultimately be better. That's why it's one choice of many that will make it better. As we outline our priorities and our needs and identify what we won't settle for, we create our best change.

JOURNAL

It’s decision time.

Will it be a dream or will it be a reality?

What are the factors to help you make the actual decision to make a huge change?

Is it a better opportunity?

Will you be better?

What mends? What breaks?

What can you live with?

What can you live without?

Have you considered as many factors as possible to know what you are getting yourself into?

Percolate Leaps of Faith.
Be Bolder.
I have faith in myself.

Love, Elizabeth
