Bogie 22 Budapest - I wish I were there
This year long time President of the famous Bogie-Conference at BME Budapest, Prof. István Zobory, deceased and many long time participants expected that this was the end of the conference. But wrong guess: István's successor, Prof. András Szabó took over and organized the conference this year with his colleagues, assistants and students. As a long time member of the International Scientific Committee I was invited too, but I was already occupied with many other obligations this week. But yesterday, I had the honor to do the commemorative speech per video on Prof. Otmar Krettek, who passed away in July. Otmar was co-founder of the Bogie-Conference that first took place in 1989 and from then every three years. I'm happy that my Institute is at least by three of my research assistants who will hold three presentations. Good luck to everyone attending! Have fun and make friends!

2 年Christian Schindler, we really missed you. All presentations were really interesting and it was a pleasure to dedicate the presentation of my co-author and me to Otmar Krettek. He was the supervisor of my Diploma Thesis 25 years ago on the topic of development and calculation of safety against derailment of a cog railway vehicle. We presented a new method for the safety assessment for cog railway vehicles.
