Boeing has revealed that it is currently producing the 737 Max at a rate of 38 aircraft per month, as disclosed in its financial results for 2023. This production level was achieved despite a cap imposed by the Federal Aviation Administration in January, citing concerns about quality and safety following an in-flight incident. Boeing is also producing 787s at a rate of five per month. The company had initially aimed to increase 737 production from 31 to 38 per month by the end of 2023, but the FAA's restrictions have added uncertainty to this plan. Boeing had previously targeted production rates of 50 737s and 10 787s per month by 2025 or 2026, and despite challenges, the company expresses confidence in achieving these goals, albeit potentially taking longer than initially anticipated. In 2023, Boeing incurred a loss of $2.2 billion.
