BOE prepares for the supply of OLED screens for Apple iPhone13
It was previously reported that some workshops of the Foxconn Shenzhen factory are about to enter the first stage of iPhone 13 proofing. It is understood that proofing is generally divided into design modules, corrections, finalization, and mass production. It usually takes 9 months from proofing to mass production. According to the latest report from Korean media, BOE is preparing to supply OLED panels in the iPhone 13 series of mobile phones. The report mentioned that in the fourth quarter of 2020, BOE began to supply OLED panels to Apple, mainly to provide display screens for the refurbished iPhone12 series. BOE has set up a Fab B11 factory in Mianyang specifically for Apple, and has begun to work hard to expand the supply of OLED panels to Apple. At the same time, Fab B11 is currently producing iPhone 13 panel samples. As mentioned in the previous revelations, iPhone 13 still has four models, and Apple wants to use OLED screens for all series, which has high requirements for corresponding production capacity. In addition, there is not much difference between the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 12 series. However, the height and width of the iPhone 13 series are the same as the iPhone 12 series, but the thickness will increase by 0.26 mm. The iPhone 13 rear camera module will increase by 0.9 mm, and Apple plans to use sapphire glass to cover the entire camera module. The camera module of the iPhone 13 is similar to the 2020 iPad Pro, with a smaller protrusion. It also uses an LTPO OLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate.
