Bodystats Innovative Design

Bodystat has always been focused on innovation. We want to ensure simplicity in delivering accurate and reproducible results. When developing the Multiscan 5000 we gathered feedback from a variety of clinicians making Bodystat, “Designed by clinicians, for clinicians”.

There were five main design criteria we had to stick to:

  1. Portability – Clinicians needed a device that could be bought to the patient, whether it be bedside or in their homes.
  2. Supine Testing – Patients within critical care often are confined to the bed or unable to stand, making Supine testing critical.
  3. Speed of test – Moving during a test can cause noise and affect the accuracy of the results, certain patients can only remain still for a few seconds – making speed a priority.
  4. Sensitivity to fluid shifts – Being able to monitor subtle fluid shifts was highlighted as important, earlier detection allows earlier treatment to improve patient outcomes.
  5. Hygiene – Many viruses are transmitted through contact points, so mitigations must be taken to reduce contact points.
