Think to yourself, would you have ever guessed that Body Worn Cameras would be a discussion point in retail today? Seen as a staple in the law enforcement tool kit, BWC's are now proving their valuable worth on many fronts, with Retail being at the front of the line.
I spent decades in asset protection/loss prevention senior leadership, and I can tell you point blank that had someone told me 2 or even 3 years ago that BWC would become a "thing" in retail, I would have probably laughed. Funny how technology morphs into critical tools which can see immediate impact when deployed. The Reveal Calla BWC is one such example.
Associate and customer safety is paramount. It has been as long as I have been engaged in the world or retail risk mitigation. Today, states are mandating minimum associate safety tools be deployed in retailers to meet guidelines. The Reveal line of BWC's fit that bill perfectly. So much so that many of the major retailers in the US are testing and deploying the Reveal Calla devices.
Let's tale a moment and clarify some things. BWC's are no longer a law-enforcement only device. We tend to call these devices Associate Safety Devices. A perfect description, as the use of a front facing worn camera has a significant deescalation rate when applied to aggressive and or hostile customers. Reveal has seen significant adoption by employees where the Cava camera is provided by the retailer. So much so, that once utilized the associate never wants to start a shift without it. This speaks volumes to the level of defense it provides to the fear most associates have....being aggressively accosted by an out of control customer. Having the Cala body cam ready to record that interaction is a powerful defense, as once activated a significant outcome happens, the customer seeing their actions on the front facing screen is enough cause them to deescalate, thus reducing the risk to the associate.

Other key benefits are in play as well. It creates a great evidence gathering tool when utilized by asset protection officers, front end managers, service desk associates and those in key positions of loss reduction, such as ORC investigators.
The cameras are small, powerful, inexpensive, and Reveal also has 8 other camera sizes built for specific retail applications. We see deployments in areas such as corporate offices, logistics and distribution centers, stores, and anywhere associate safety is paramount.
Contact me directly or Reveal Media at Revealmedia.com for more information on how you can receive a free trial of the World's only front facing body worn camera technology. But hurry, the demand is significant, so get to the front of the line before its wrapping around the block!

2 个月Completely agree that this would have been considered an "interesting" idea a few years back. I certainly see the investigative value from a people safety, evidence gathering, and customer de-escalation perspective. However, I also see this as a great Sales, Operations, and HR training tool for new employees or those trying to promote from within the company. What a great opportunity to catch and celebrate people doing things right!
