Body Painting Makes the Cover!

I made a bit of a scene in a restaurant Saturday night...
Let's set the stage: a basketball game is on in the bar, I'm not paying much attention... next thing I know there are scenes of MMA Champion Ronda Rousey being BODY PAINTED by body art icon Joanne Gair.
(Remember the iconic Vanity Fair cover with Demi Moore wearing only a painted-on pinstripe suit? That's Joanne Gair's work.)
It's a special SI Swimsuit Issue "reveal" on TNN, and it's heavily featuring Ms. Gair's body paint work over the years. Hosted by Rebecca Romijn- my colleague from the recently completed third season of Skin Wars- the show is taking viewers all the way back to 1999 for the first swimsuit issue to feature body paint. (Rebecca was one of the very first models to sport the paint in SI's pages.)
We then get to see the artist and her assistants behind the scenes, painting Ronda and other models in her signature trompe l'oeil style. By now I'm squealing, clapping, and jumping around in the restaurant. I am SO EXCITED to see body painting- and basically my hero - in a prime time feature on mainstream TV.
Making things even more fun, the hosts bring to the stage two identical models (twins, I believe) in identical swim suits, and challenge the audience to discern between the "real" suit and one that is 100% paint. My trained eye can spot the "imposter", but just barely. The painted on suit is a dead ringer for the real one- shadows, fabric wrinkles, stitching, the whole nine yards.
For the big finale, 3 large screens reveal the images selected to be the cover of this year's issue. Apparently, there were too many great photographs to select only one, so the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue will have three different covers- and one of them is Ronda Rousey in Joanne Gair's body paint!
I'm beside myself.
BODY PAINT is on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
THE COVER!
I love this art form, it is my passion and my life's work. And I've struggled at times to prove it's elegance and main stream appeal. This magazine cover is a huge leap forward. It shows that the American public is ready. They appreciate the artistry.
And Joanne Gair is the best of the best. Body Painter to the stars.
Her creations take HOURS. Each one of her SI suits takes 10-12 hours to complete, with at least 4 assistants.
And, most likely, you can't afford her.
If you're interested in putting your message on a living breathing actor, dancer, or model who can engage your audience in a way that no banner or video can- but you don't have 12 hours or six figures to spare- contact Body Masterpiece for a free consultation.
