Hello,
Effective communication is a crucial skill that can make or break your professional success and your #marketingandadvertising content images that show people.
While spoken and written communication is important, they account for only a portion of what we communicate. In fact, research has shown that #bodylanguage can make up a significant portion of how we communicate with others.?
Understanding and mastering body language can enhance your ability to connect with others, build trust, and convey confidence.
By paying attention to nonverbal cues such as facial expressions, gestures, and posture, you can improve your communication skills and establish positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and business partners.?
But, it's not just about your in-person interactions...
It's also the images of people that you put out as a brand or business for your content.
In this newsletter, we'll dive deep into the topic of body language and share tips and strategies to help you master the art of nonverbal communication.
From decoding the meaning behind different facial expressions to using body language to project confidence and authority, we'll cover a range of topics to help you communicate effectively in any situation.?
Topical Debate - AI models
Are we setting unrealistic standards for women in the digital age?
A recent article in the Daily Mail explores the pressure that real women face to compete with digital perfection on social media and beyond.
The article cites research that shows how constant exposure to filtered and edited images can harm women's self-esteem, body image, and mental health.
It also features interviews with women who share their struggles with feeling inadequate, comparing themselves to others, and trying to keep up with the online Joneses.
However, I have seen some great examples of how we can use technology to empower women to embrace their authentic selves.
We can also be more mindful of the messages we send and receive and challenge the unrealistic beauty ideals that still dominate many platforms.
Here's how I think AI can have the edge for content images:
What do you think?
How can we use the technology and keep it real to engage the viewer??
Did you know? (Personology Insight)
Did you know it only takes your brain 33 milliseconds to decide whether to trust someone?
It all happens in the blink of an eye—literally.
And it’s something you ought to be thinking about when you’re putting your advertising and marketing campaigns together.?
Your customers care more about trusting your brand than finding it attractive…
Can you guess the two traits on the face that relate to perceived trustworthiness?
1.???High cheekbones
2.???High eyebrows
Think Fiona Bruce and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby!
How high are the cheekbones and eyebrows on your people pictures?!
Have a go!?
Here's a tip for you to have a go at this week!
Did you know that your body language can speak louder than your words?
It's true!
In fact, research shows that up to 93% of our communication is nonverbal (context-specific, always!), meaning that our body language, gestures, and facial expressions can have a significant impact on how we're perceived by others.
So, what can you do to improve your body language and make sure you're sending the right message?
Here's a quick tip you can start using right away:
Practise good posture.
Good posture not only makes you look more confident and professional, but it also helps you feel more confident and alert.
When you sit or stand up straight, you're more likely to breathe deeply, which can help reduce stress and anxiety.
To practise good posture, make sure your shoulders are back and down, your chin is level, and your feet are flat on the ground.
Avoid slouching or crossing your arms, as this can make you appear closed off or uninterested. (Crossed arms is a body language myth that you are defensive, but the myth is so prevalent, it's worth avoiding crossing your arms...)
By practising good posture, you can instantly improve your body language and make a positive impression in the workplace.
Try it out this week and see the difference it can make!
