Do you notice your body image is influenced by your actions? When you act in alignment with your goals through nourishment, movement, rest, & mental care; does your image of yourself change?
A lot of people will be quick to fall into a rabbit hole of negative behaviors because they’re quicker to judge their body than they are to audit their mindsetI recall a time in my competition career that I was post show, looking at myself in the mirror, seeing a reflection of myself that was “too far gone anyways”… this thought perpetuated a spiral of negative decision making because the love I had for myself was dwindled so my desire to care for myself went down with it and the cycle ensued
But fast forward months… I looked at that version of me in a photograph and I realized I didn’t see myself for reality, I saw a broken version of me and this led me to judgment & maladaptive responses & habits as a result
When I started to prioritize how I spoke about, saw, and supported myself through difficult times & emotions, my view of myself started to change and taking care of myself became easier
I think self-love can be an underrated prerequisite to consistent healthy behavior
When you have love for someone, you naturally want to care for them

Apply that to yourself and suddenly the objectives to your goals start to feel easier because now it’s out of love and respect for yourself
We can- see that the body is our souls vessel- recognize the power of caring for our body outside of aesthetic gain- honor our body’s needs as it’s always carried us through everything no matter how we treat it
I was able to get ahead of future spirals in behavior patterns by changing how I thought about my body, myself, and my goals
This is something I support my #BUILDMORETHANJUSTABODY community with
Establishing core values, self-love, compassion, emotional health/stability, & a connection to your goals that allow you to shift from “I want my body to look like this” to “I want to treat my body in this way, love my body through these actions, and be accepting of the outcome knowing it will come as a result of these prerequisites”
