The Boca Raton seeks Director of Construction Management for our continued expansion

Position Purpose

The primary function of the Director of Construction Management is to oversee all construction, renovation and capital project improvment activities the Boca Raton and our five lodging products as we embark on the next 100M phase of our renovation and complete the first 200M phase.

This position is responsible for all aspects of planning and managing construction projects, development of the site and due diligence through construction. The Director will be tasked with managing multiple projects to ensure all are delivered on time and meeting or exceeding delivery requirements and budget objectives.

The Director of Construction Management will serve as the primary point of contact between management, ownership and the general contractors and sub contractors on various projects. This role is instrumental in leading the construction team through several projects, management of day-to-day operations of the team and monitoring performance.


Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Prepare and negotiate cost estimates, coordinate the bidding process, and initiate project scheduling.
  • Direct and manage the construction team responsible for the day to day the construction of projects, coordination of designers and general contractors, etc.
  • Monitor and assume timely completion of the project within the established budget and schedule.
  • Utilize Smartsheets to track projects, monitor progress and provide updates to Managing Director.
  • Provide leadership, professional guidance, direction, and supervision to outside contractors.
  • Construction responsibilities to include ensuring finalization of plans with architects, engineers, and designers.
  • Supervise bidding and contract approval process.

Qualifications?

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in construction, including accomplishments of increased responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
  • Experience working in and managing projects in remote, logistically challenging locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to procure entitlements and building permits.
  • Computer literacy sufficient to operate spreadsheet and word processing applications (Microsoft Suite to include Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Must be able to work with diverse cultural workplace and jobsites.

Preferences

  • Highly effective communication, presentation and listening abilities to navigate development opportunities.
  • Strong leadership and the ability to lead a team remotely and in person.

Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Potential weekend and non-business hour meetings and/or site visits.
  • Ability to travel to work sites on a regular basis.
  • Valid Passport
  • Valid driver’s license
