???? Finland’s Baltic Yachts has announced a contract for a new Baltic 80 Custom. The high-performance Baltic 80 Custom comes from the board of German design studio Judel/Vrolijk.
Commissioned by an experienced yachtsman, who is building with Baltic Yachts for the first time, the Baltic 80 Custom is said to be a multi-role yacht capable of fast offshore cruising and excellent performance on the race course.
“She’s a particularly sleek and sporty looking yacht and could be regarded as a ‘new generation 80’ in a size range that has recently been attracting attention from clients. A lot of design work has been done to produce what should be a great performance cruiser-racer.”
says Henry Hawkins, Baltic Yachts’ executive vice president.
The new yacht features a distinctive reverse-angle stem and a maximum beam which is carried right aft. It is designed with twin rudders, a lifting keel and a conventional propulsion unit driving a folding propeller. A large stern garage will house a jet-driven Williams 395 tender.
In cruising mode, the Baltic 80 will be an easy yacht to sail with a self-tacking jib set on a wide track. Decisions have yet to be made regarding rig design and manufacture, although it will be fitted with in-boom furling. The yacht’s streamlined, low-level coachroof incorporates a fold-down dodger and bimini for cockpit protection.
The yacht’s accommodation is for six guests in three double cabins with a further cabin for two crew. Baltic Yachts is designing and building the interior. The Baltic 80 will be built in advanced composites using pre-preg Sprint and a foam core throughout.
Construction is due to begin in January 2023 with a launch date in the summer of 2024.?

???? The UK’s Princess Yachts is returning to boot Düsseldorf next year with a seven-yacht lineup that includes four premieres – the world premiere of the Princess S72, the show debut of the X80 and F65 and the European premiere of the new Y85.
Also included in the line-up will be the V40, F45, and sporty S62.
The all-new Princess S72 is the latest addition to Princess Yachts’ S Class family. Designed by the Princess Design Studio in collaboration with naval architects Olesinski and Italian design house Pininfarina, the S72’s sweeping profile features sleek styling lines and full-length hull windows.
The S72 is equipped with twin MAN V12 engines at 1650hp or 1800hp and a resin-infused deep-V hull, delivering dynamic performance and smooth handling at speeds of up to 36kt.
?? Antonini Navi has collaborated with architecture firm Sculli for the construction of XPD88, a 28-metre full-custom expedition yacht.?
The new project will be built together with the 40-metre UP 40 platform, which is currently under construction at the La Spezia shipyard in Italy.?
The XPD88 is a 28-metre full-custom expedition yacht made entirely of steel. Antonini Navi says the XPD88 is characterised by generous volumes – unusual for a yacht with a beam of 8.5 metres – and striking style.?
“Antonini Navi proves it has a winning business formula. The XPD88 completes and realises the promise we made at the launch of the shipyard, which included the production of full custom yachts, entirely made-to-measure. The latter joins the offer of a line of superyachts, of which the 40-metre platform is currently under construction, and the construction of a boat for third parties, which, only a few months ago, saw the delivery of three hulls and related metal superstructures.”
says Simone Antonini, the shipyard’s CEO
