?? This week’s Boatbuilding News! ???

???? Bering Yachts have moved to the next stage of construction for its second B145 explorer yacht.?

The hull and superstructure have recently been joined, and the boat has been moved to its outfitting facility.

Designed by Bering’s in-house team of naval architects and engineers, the 44m boat is a three-deck ocean-going yacht capable of high latitude travel.

“Comfort, reliability, and capability – this is important in any exploration-type yacht, and it is exactly what we want to provide to our customers. Our growing construction capacity is following the demand of true enthusiasts and sea-lovers.”

says Alexey Mikhailov, president of Bering Yachts?

Bering 145, in Antalya, Turkey, has a 9.7m beam. This allows space for a main deck master stateroom and for five guest suites, which are located on the lower deck.

Other features include a sauna with a spa and a diving room with a fold-down door and decompression chamber.

With a full displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the B145 is rated at 514 metric tons at full load and will have a hybrid propulsion drive (electric/diesel). Bering says this powertrain will allow for a top speed of 15 knots with a range in excess of 4,000 nautical miles at 12-knot cruising speed.

Bering 145 will be delivered in 2024, as well as hulls B125, B121, B117.

??? The Italian Sea Group, global operator in luxury yachting, has unveiled the new Perini Navi fleet, one year after it acquired the brand.

The fleet, named Genesis, includes 48m, 56m, and 77m yachts.?

The company says it wanted to ‘create a line of sailing yachts with the characteristic and iconic elements of Perini Navi interpreted in a modern and exclusive way: large spaces, brightness, easy sailing, and comfort’.

“I am very proud of the new Perini Navi fleet and the progress made so far over the past year. By transferring the comfort of motor yachts to sailing yachts, we have succeeded in creating a harmonious synergy between two worlds thanks to our already strong expertise, which has been strengthened and expanded through the Perini Navi acquisition. The market is showing particular sensitivity to our sailing yachts, and our established reputation for design, quality and innovation will help strengthen the group’s expansion and growth strategy.”

says Giovanni Costantino, founder & CEO of The Italian Sea Group.?

The new 48m yacht will be offered in two versions: regatta and cruise.

TISG says the new generation hull lines will allow even more comfortable sailing while the open stern, equipped with a transformer, will facilitate access to the sea offering great comfort particularly at anchorage.

The sail system handling system will continue to be concentrated in the two command consoles, with a series of joysticks that facilitate single-man control.?

In the interest of sustainability, it will also be possible to install solar panels.

The 56m, Perini Navi’s most iconic sailing yacht, will be redesigned through the collaboration with Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design, which, with a strong orientation to sailing performance, will develop the naval platform and sail plan, as well as contribute to the styling of the exterior.

The new sail plan, in carbon, will ensure comfort and sailing performance through the use of Perini Navi’s ‘sail handling system’.

The 77m will be the first platform on which to install the Falcon rig. The sailing yacht will have two masts that will give great advantages in terms of navigation and safety. There will be an electro-hydraulic mast-sail management system. The new sailing yacht will be the first platform to have a full-size spa-beach club with folding terraces that are connected with the aft beach.

???? Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding has delivered two of the fastest tenders it has designed and built – a 12.3m Limousine Catamaran Tender and an 11.7m Open Sport Catamaran Tender – to Lurssen Shipyard in Germany, for the 160m megayacht - Blue, which is one of the largest superyachts in the world.

Incorporating a unique, asymmetric high-speed hull that Cockwells has specifically designed for this commission, these twin diesel-powered, waterjet-driven vessels can each reach a speed of up to 52 knots, offering an exhilarating ride but with stability and comfort at every twist and turn.

With touchscreen control, precision docking, joystick manoeuvring and, most notably, a height-adjustable deck saloon, the epic 12.3m Limousine Catamaran Tender provides a luxurious on-the-water transfer experience for up to 15 guests, with access from the forward and aft cockpits via sliding glass doors.

The height-adjustable deck saloon can be raised or lowered easily from the touchscreen helm console and in the lower position, stows snugly in the mothership’s garage.

An automated water ballast system maintains stability at sea or on the dock, keeping her perfectly trimmed wherever guests are seated or standing.

The 11.7m Open Sport Catamaran Tender features a permanent bimini, which extends across the entire width of the cockpit. A moulded painted carbon composite frame with two pillars mounted into carbon sockets enable the bimini structure to be raised or lowered electronically to sit neatly within the tender bay

“We are incredibly proud to have created these exceptional, state-of-the-art tenders for Lürssen and to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Terence Disdale Design who masterminded the mothership in all her sumptuous detail,”?

Says Dave Cockwell, founder and managing director.
