Board Member Scott Garner attends first AAESC board meeting of 2020

The Association of Asian Environmental Services Companies (AAESC) held its first Board Meeting of 2020 this weekend in Hong Kong. Anderson Li (Chairman), after calling the meeting to order on Saturday, presided over the two-day meeting.

New Board Member Scott Garner was welcomed and officially appointed to the Greater China Committee, the Finance & Treasury Committee, the Corporate Governance Committee, and the New Energy Vehicle Committee.

Reginald Siebert was re-appointed to his role as President of AAESC. Mr. Siebert has served in this role since 2015.

Victoria Wong was re-appointed to her role as Vice-President of AAESC. Ms. Wong has served in this role since 2018.

Mr. Seibert presented the management report and operating budget for fiscal year 2020. Key areas of discussion were staffing, cost control, membership expansion, geographic expansion, and special initiatives. The budget was approved with unanimous approval.

The Board unanimously approved the expansion of the Beijing, New Delhi, and Dubai offices in order to facilitate the continued growth of AAESC membership in India, China, and the Middle-East.

The Board unanimously approved full member meetings to be held in Shanghai on June 6-7 and New Delhi on October 3-4, at venues to be announced at a later date.

The Board unanimously approved a scholarship program to support graduate students pursuing MBA degrees who have prior experience in environmental science and technologies.

The Board discussed financial support for other environmental organizations in the Asia-Pacific region but no vote was taken. AAESC President Siebert will make a more formal proposal to the Board at its next meeting, in which a vote will be taken.

Anderson Li (Chairman) closed the meeting and instructed the AAESC Secretary to forward the Board Minutes to all members.
