A Board Meeting Like No Other

We were honoured to be part of Yayasan Hasanah 's board meeting this year.?

What made this board meeting special? Here are 3 takeaways we came back with:?

1. Policymakers and Civil Servants also Turned Up?

Joining the illustrious board members of Yayasan Hasanah and key NGO partners were representatives from the government and government agencies.??

The local MP, YB Maria Chin, took the stage to share about her initiatives in the community that she serves. Dato’ Faridah A. Jabbar from SME Corp and a few key ministry representatives from Ministry of Finance and the Economic Planning Unit under the PM's office were also present to understand what happened in the community in Lembah Subang.??

We were encouraged by the presence of all these civil servants and policymakers who turned up and showed their genuine interest in doing their part to help.?

2. A Meeting In the Heart of the Community.??

We absolutely love the venue of the board meeting - a hall in the heart of the community that we are collectively hoping to transform. It was definitely?meaningful as everyone was able to see the community that we are impacting first-hand. On top of that, refreshments were prepared by the local micro businesses!?

3. A Glimpse of Lives Transformed?

A number of community leaders from the community were also active participants in the board meeting. These were residents who succeeded in overcoming the toughest times in their lives and have grown to be positive influences and role models to people around them.?

A community leader, Puan Noraishah, gave the opening speech to the board meeting, while another community leader, Puan Misha, participated in the panel discussion with various NGO partners of Yayasan Hasanah. We could hear first-hand the trials and the triumphs that they faced and what they would like to see improved in their community.???

Across the board, it was clear that everyone shared the same dream of seeing this community succeed. The families living in this large pocket of poverty in the heart of Klang Valley are not forgotten and we strive to provide hope and a helping hand to them.?
