In my previous posts, “My First 120 Days as Board Chair,” I conveyed a set of important principles that guide me as a Chair, along with our School’s Board. In “Governance with Purpose,” I outlined the purpose of the Board, the role of Governors and why a high functioning Board team is essential to sustaining an exceptional educational experience for current and future students.?

As we continue through SMUS’ Board of Governors’ election period, it is essential to recognize the influence we all hold in shaping the future of SMUS—through the simple, yet profound act of voting. Reviewing each candidate‘s profile and voting for Governors, who you believe will bring experience and an important perspective to the Board, is more than just a decision; it is your opportunity to contribute to SMUS’ sustainability and to shape the future of our outstanding School.

The work of our Nominations Committee plays a crucial role in this process, as they have carefully curated a slate of candidates who bring the necessary skills, perspectives, and experience to the Board. Their efforts align with the Board's goal of fostering a cohesive and effective team, creating the important alchemy that empowers the Board to do its best work for our school.
