GBTA KC Welcomes Michelle Walker, M.S., as New Board Member - Sponsorship

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Michelle Walker , M.S., as the newest member of the Board of Directors for the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) Kansas City chapter, overseeing Sponsorship. Michelle brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to this role, currently serving as the Events Department Manager at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research .

A Passion for Collaboration and Support

Michelle’s decision to join the board stems from her longstanding desire to contribute at a higher level within the organization. "I have been interested in being on the Board for a while. I have enjoyed helping on committees for past events and love being part of a team," Michelle shares. Her goal is to enhance the coordination of activities that secure necessary funding for special projects and events, ensuring the continued success and vibrancy of GBTA KC.

When asked about her favorite aspects of Kansas City, Michelle praised the city's vast diversity and the plethora of activities it offers. "There is an unmeasurable amount of diversity within the metro area and an unlimited number of things to do and see within a short distance," she explains. Her appreciation for the city's culture and community spirit is a testament to her dedication and commitment to fostering a thriving business travel environment in the region.

Michelle's enthusiasm for the travel industry is palpable. She describes the sector as "exciting and constantly changing," a field where she is always learning and growing. "I have a passion for travel and for troubleshooting when issues arise with our travelers," she states. This dynamic approach and proactive mindset are exactly what makes Michelle an invaluable addition to the GBTA KC Board.
