BNI - It's Not A Cult, It's What You Make It
Steve McKenzie ??
"creating unforgettable experiences, one sip at a time" working with Craft Spirits producers from all over the globe and providing bespoke events for the crafty community.
I wanted to write this article to give my take on BNI.
There will be those who have tried BNI and didn't like it and that's fine because it's not for everyone.
There will be those that say its to strict and too formatted for their liking and they are entitled to their opinion.
For me, when I joined BNI, I joined a group of business owners who all had the same goal, to get more business. Our Chapter, or group, come together every week to meet up, usually on a face to face basis but on Zoom for now, and help each other grow our businesses.
There is a saying in BNI about "Givers Gain" which is the theory of Reciprocity. I like to look at it from a "you get out of it what you put in".
Running a business is not easy and if you can get a helping hand from others, why not take it. From my own perspective I have a 20+ strong sales team who are out there promoting my business and looking out for new business for me.
This is not just someone touting for business because they feel they have.
These are people who know me, know my business and most importantly have used my business.
We work together and we also socialise together, it's more like a family than a group.

Yes, there is a big committment in having to attend a meeting at 6.45am every Thursday morning. When we have our face to face events you also get a superb breakfast to set you up for the day.
Unfortunately as we are on Zoom you have to sort your own breakfast.
Let's think about the word, committment. How committed are you to making your business a success? Yes, I know the meeting is very early but it's finished by 8.30am at the latest so it doesn't impact on your working day.
The best way to dispell any myths or things you might have heard is to experience it for yourself.
You can come along as a visitor and find out first hand what BNI We Will Rock You are all about. If you are thinking, "I've been to a BNI meeting before I know what its like", all I can say if you have never been to WWRY.
There is no hard sell, no obligation to join, just the chance to get more business and have a team behind you supporting you.
I can honestly say that our business would not have survived the lockdown in 2020 if it were not for the support of my We Will Rock You Family.
If you would like to know more, or want to come along to a meeting as my guest, then just drop me a message and I will get in touch.
Don't think of it in terms of what have you got to lose, think of it more in terms of what you will gain?
