What?
Bluetooth is a technology standard used to enable short-range wireless communication between electronic devices.
When?
In 1998 Ericsson assembled a consortium of computer and electronics companies, known as the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group), to bring the technology to the real world.
Why named as Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is named for Harald I Bluetooth, the 10th-century Danish king who unified Denmark and Norway. Jim Kardach chose the name to imply that Bluetooth similarly unites communication protocols.
