Hurricane Helene, a powerful Category 4 storm with winds reaching 140 mph, swept through the Southeast, ultimately causing widespread flooding and mudslides. Notably, Western North Carolina was hit hardest, with some areas receiving over 30 inches of rain, resulting in a tragic rise in the death toll above 130. Given our work with professionals nationwide, we understand the far-reaching effects of disasters like Hurricane Helene. In fact, many of our internal team members, as well as the professionals we collaborate with, have been directly impacted by the storm. Therefore, our commitment extends beyond just talent—we aim to support the recovery and rebuilding of these affected communities.

By highlighting organizations that are leading recovery efforts, we hope to broaden support for these regions even further. We’ve carefully selected three charities based on their proven impact and transparency, ensuring that donations truly make a difference for those in need.

Team Rubicon impressed us with its transparency and swift response to disasters. With a 100% rating from Charity Tester, this group takes quick action in the aftermath of crises. After Hurricane Helene, many roads were cut off due to washouts, mudslides, and fallen trees. Consequently, some towns became completely isolated, with power and cell service down. Major highways, including Interstate 40 and Interstate 26, were closed. In response to these challenges, Team Rubicon is actively clearing routes in South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee, while also planning work in Buncombe County, NC. Their veteran-led teams assist communities in rebuilding, reflecting the same resilience we value in the IT professionals we work with.

Furthermore, their efforts align with ongoing initiatives, as search-and-rescue teams airdrop supplies and work to rebuild vital infrastructure.
