Blueprint for your post Covid business culture

If anyone had said to me 12 months ago “hey, why not have your entire team work from home 100% of the time” I’ve have thought about for two seconds then said no.  Hell no! 

What manager or business leader would have honestly thought you could get the same productivity with home working?  What about the culture, the communication?  Flexible working is nothing new, but it was the exception rather than the norm and hardly any businesses worked 100% on that model. 

I'd have been wrong though, as would have most people. As it turns out, if you have the right people, it doesn't matter where they are, and if you don't have the right people, you were focussed on the wrong problem.

Our “new normal’ is no longer that new, but how many businesses have taken the time to assess and analyse exactly what ‘it’ is for them?  Have you?  What cultural changes have Covid brought about?  Are the staff that have thrived in this environment the ones you thought would, or vice versa?

Right now, the world is still in turmoil and many businesses are focussed on survival mode, but when things change, and they will of course, all businesses will need to have a growth strategy in place.  The old blueprint of what a “successful”  employee might look like from a cultural and managerial perspective is unlikely to be exactly the same as it was.

Having the right people pipelined and in place to recover from and grow out of Covid is crucial to every growth strategy, so developing a blueprint for what that looks like should be happening right now.
