What is your role here at Highland and what do you enjoy most about your role?
Taylor: Marketing Coordinator - I love the variety of my role, no day is the same!?In marketing, we get to have a hand in a lot of different tasks ranging from creating digital brochures for our communities, planning events, brainstorming with our Sales Counselors, and meeting with the Sales teams to develop community-specific marketing plans.
What does your “typical” day at Highland look like?
Taylor: My "typical" day at Highland starts with organizing my inbox and then diving headfirst into the day's tasks. I meet with the marketing team to discuss how we will divide and conquer our to-do list. Whether it's ordering catering, creating digital brochures, updating collateral, or meeting with Sales Counselors, no day is the same! I'm working on different items on a daily basis - a little bit of everything we like to say!
How have you seen Highland Homes’ Core Values & Guiding Principles impact others or you personally?
Taylor: I feel as Employee Owners, we are all impacted by the Highland Homes Core Values & Guiding Principles on a daily basis. We carry ourselves in a way that represents what it means to be a Highland Homes Employee Owner. At Highland, we do business the right way - no matter the circumstances. We are coming off an unprecedented worldwide pandemic that impacted many industries, homebuilding included. Throughout that entire time, Highland Homes and its Employee Owners remained steadfast in upholding its Core Values & Guiding Principles despite the challenges that faced us. For that, I am extremely proud to be a part of this amazing company!
Which Highland Homes Core Value resonates most with you and why?
Taylor: The Highland Homes Core Value of Continuous Improvement/Welcome Change resonates the most with me because it's vital as a company to adapt to ever-changing circumstances. The challenges we faced with COVID proved we were able to pivot and adapt to the new normal we were living in. Things are constantly changing around us and it's important to welcome change and not remain tied to the status-quo.

Tell me about your favorite core memory having FUN at Highland Homes.
Taylor: Our Construction & Customer Care Awards for 2022 is definitely a highlight! This year's awards were our first in-person event for the Construction team in two years, and everyone had such a fun time. It was so great seeing Sales and Construction come together and celebrate the achievements of the Construction team. They are on the front lines helping us complete our homes and they deserved the recognition!
What makes Highland Homes different from other employers?
Taylor: When I started over three years ago, fresh out of college, everyone was so nice and so helpful as I began navigating the waters. To this day, they remain the same. I have developed such great relationships throughout my time here at Highland and I have made some lifelong friends. I am very blessed to be a part of such a great company!
What is one thing you would want others to know about being an Employee Owner at Highland Homes?
Taylor: When you personally have a stake in the company, it changes the game! As an Employee Owner at Highland Homes, we have even more of a vested interest in doing our parts to make the company successful. This ups the ante and pressure but makes it that much more rewarding!
What made you join the Highland Homes team?
Taylor: I've always been interested in real estate and new home construction, so a marketing job with Highland Homes seemed like a perfect fit! When I interviewed, I had an instant connection with the team and felt like I had known them for years. I could immediately sense the culture at Highland was top-notch and knew this is where I belonged!
What do you like to do outside of work?
Taylor: Binge-watch TV, read, golf, spend time with family & friends!
